Vanderbilt baseball live score updates vs. Florida: Commodores face Gators in SEC series

After getting swept by Texas A&M and shut out in the first two games, Vanderbilt baseball is looking for a bounce back at home against Florida.

The Gators (19-18, 7-9 SEC) have had an even more topsy-turvy season than the Commodores themselves. Florida is the only team to win a series against Texas A&M this season but got swept by Missouri and then lost a series at home to South Carolina. The Gators have also lost a litany of midweek games, including to Jacksonville and Stetson.

Vanderbilt has won 12 consecutive home series, including six sweeps. The Commodores (28-10, 9-7) took two out of three from Florida the last time the two teams played at Hawkins Field in 2022. However, the Gators swept Vanderbilt last season in Gainesville.

Thursday: Vanderbilt won game 1, 10-5, behind four home runs. The Commodores took the lead for good with a five-run fifth inning. Bryce Cunningham allowed three runs in six innings with one walk and seven strikeouts and Miller Green followed it up by allowing two runs in 2⅔ innings after a rain delay of just over an hour and 15 minutes. Greysen Carter got the save by forcing a groundout with the bases loaded.

RJ Austin fell a single short of the cycle by going 3-for-5 with a home run, double and triple. Davis Diaz, Alan Espinal and Troy LaNeve tallied two hits and one home run apiece.
