Valerie Bertinelli is opening up about her relationship with her new daughter-in-law, Andraia Allsop.

For those who missed it, Bertinelli's son, Wolfgang Van Halen, whom she shares with the late Eddie Van Halen, married his longtime girlfriend on Oct. 15—the eighth anniversary of their first date—at the couple's home in Los Angeles.

And it seems Bertinelli couldn't be happier to formally welcome Allsop into her family. In a new interview with People, Bertinelli, 63, shared that her son's late father "would’ve been absolutely beaming" at the occasion, and "so, so proud of the man Wolfie has become."

As she continued, the One Day at a Time alum also noted that her ex would've been "so happy that [their son] has found Andraia," who she said "really understands" the 32-year-old musician and "supports him wholeheartedly.”

For her part, she expressed, “It brings me such a nice sense of peace knowing Wolfie and Andraia have each other for the rest of their lives,” going on to describe how the couple "really ‘get[s]’ one another."

She continued, "Their humor is very similar, they like similar things, they know how to give each other space and they’re just so comfortable together.”

It's clear her son's wedding was an important day for Bertinelli, as she previously revealed on Instagram that she couldn't hold back tears while watching footage of the mother-son dance.

"I just want to say, it's OK to cry," she quipped in the social media update. "Especially these tears...When your child finds their forever person, there's no joy like that."

Fans rallied around Bertinelli in the comments, with one writing, "Daw. Your little baby boy got married. He found someone who loves him as much as you do. It's absolutely OK to tear up, it's such a joyous moment."
