Valentine's Day is next week. Here are 8 local florists to surprise your sweetheart

This is your polite reminder that we have less than a week until Feb. 14.

Valentine's Day is known for the treats and flowers sweethearts exchange in celebration of the most romantic day of the year.

Still need flowers for the occasion? Here are eight local Columbus area florists to check out. (This list is by no means exhaustive. There are plenty of other local florists in Central Ohio.)

April's Flowers and Gifts (Fifth by Northwest):

April's Flowers and Gifts is located at 1195 W. Fifth Ave. in the Fifth by Northwest neighborhood of Columbus. The store, which offers custom and designed arrangements, is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. It is closed Sundays.

In addition to delivering in Columbus, April's Flowers and Gifts also delivers to Dublin, Grove City, Hilliard, Reynoldsburg, Westerville, Worthington, Gahanna, Bexley, Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights.

Hilliard Floral Design

Hilliard Floral Design is located at 4120 Main St. in Hilliard. In addition to floral arrangements, Hilliard Floral Design also offers a variety of gift items, including candy, books, candles and other holiday gifts. The store is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

In addition to delivering to Hilliard, the store will also deliver to Dublin, Galloway, Plain City, Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, Worthington, Powell and west and central Columbus

Market Blooms (North Market)

Market Blooms is located in North Market in downtown Columbus. The stall at the market offers fresh cut flowers and custom arrangements. Market Blooms is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Market Blooms delivers to much of Central Ohio (a map is available on marketbloomscolumbus.com).

Westerville Florist

Westerville Florist is located at 14 S. State St. in Westerville. The florist, which has been in business since 1958, offers custom and designed arrangements as well as gifts. Westerville Florist is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday. The store is closed Sunday.

The store delivers to Westerville, the Polaris area, Worthington, Lewis Center, Galena, Sunbury, Gahanna, north Columbus and New Albany.

Orchard Lane Flowers (Clintonville)

Orchard Lane Flowers is located at 3378 Indianola Ave. in Clintonville. The store offers plants, candles, perfumes and other gifts in addition to floral arrangements. Orchard Lane is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The store is closed Sundays.

Orchard Lane Flowers offers same day flower delivery in the Columbus area on orders received before noon.

Sawmill Florist (northwest Columbus)

Sawmill Florist is located at 7370 Sawmill Rd., Suite G, in the northwest side of Columbus. The shop offers a variety of floral arrangements. Sawmill Florist is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The store is closed Sundays.

Sawmill Florist delivers to Columbus, Dublin, Hilliard, Powell, Upper Arlington, Westerville and Worthington.

Flowerama (Columbus, Whitehall, Reynoldsburg)

Flowerama has three locations in Central Ohio: Columbus, Whitehall and Reynoldsburg. In addition to floral arrangements, the stores offer gifts and other plants. All three locations are open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Flowerama offers same day delivery to most of Central Ohio.

Flower Boutique (Groveport)

Flower Boutique is located at 142 Main St. in Groveport. The store offers arranged designs and other gifts. The store is open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed Sundays.

Flower Boutique delivers to the areas of Groveport, Canal Winchester, Obetz, Lockbourne, Lithopolis, Carroll and Columbus.
