UTPB Small Business Development Center wins award
May 2—University of Texas Permian Basin Small Business Development Center has been awarded the 2024 Excellence and Innovation award for SBA region IV.
They were awarded by the Northwest Texas SBDC network for UTPB's commitment to the communities they serve.
Region IV includes all of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
"I think it is a tribute to the SBDC team, not one individual. It is also indicative of the commitment that UTPB has for the SBDC and the roll we play in economic development," said UTPB SBDC Director Tyler Patton.
SBDC is a part of the College of Business. The center works with business owners and prospective entrepreneurs to start, expand, and grow their small business.
"The support of UTPB, the Northwest Texas SBDC network, and the Odessa Development Corporation have been key to the success the UTPB-SBDC has achieved," said Patton.
