A tourist from the United States was deported from the Philippines and banned from returning after he wrote profanity on immigration forms and acted “rude,” according to immigration officials.

The 34-year-old American arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport near Manila on a Nov. 7 flight from Bangkok, Thailand, the Philippines Bureau of Immigration said in a Nov. 8 news release.

At immigration, officers reminded the tourist to fill out the required paperwork, officials said. In response, officers said he “showed disdain” and filled out the form with a fake address, incomplete name and profanity.

The 34-year-old also “tossed his passport and his mobile phone angrily to the immigration officer,” officials said.

Filipino officials described his behavior as “rude conduct” and said he “overstepped his boundaries.”

The American tourist was deported back to Thailand and blacklisted, meaning he was “permanently” banned from reentering the Philippines, immigration officials said.

“We expect all individuals to conduct themselves with respect and adhere to the established procedures,” Norman Tansingco, a commissioner with the bureau of immigration, said in the release. “Any violation of these procedures will be dealt with firmly.”
