'Unstable' Fans, You're Not Ready for This Season 2 News John Owen Lowe Just Dropped

Folks, it looks like Ellis and Jackson Dragon will be back on our screens very soon.
When Rob Lowe and his son, John Owen Lowe, debuted their workplace comedy series Unstable in 2023, fans immediately loved seeing the two act alongside one another. What's more, the show became so popular on Netflix, the streamer quickly renewed Unstable for season 2 in November 2023. While it was unclear when the show would start filming again amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last summer, John Owen just surprised fans with an incredible teaser.
Posting a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram on January 28, John Owen announced he and his dad wrapped filming season 2. As the two hugged while on set, viewers also saw them congratulate the crew on completing production on the next installment of episodes.
"🎬 That’s a wrap on Season 2 of Unstable!!" he excitedly wrote. "See you guys on Netflix later [this] year ❤️."
When fans learned there's a chance they'll get to see Unstable season 2 sooner than expected, they bombarded John Owen to voice their excitement over the prospect.
"Yay! Congratulations! Can’t wait to see the new season! You all are amazing actors! Keep up the great work!" one person wrote on Instagram. "I can’t wait! My favorite show!" another declared. "Fantastic, so when will I be able to watch it??" a different follower inquired.
Although John Owen didn't give details about the exact release date for Unstable season 2, given how he's been keeping folks up to date with the show, he'll likely share something in the upcoming months.
As for Rob, Unstable season 2 is just one more project amid a myriad of things he's working on lately. As he waits to hear news about filming 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, he's also hosting Fox's new game show The Floor, which airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
So, what can fans expect from Unstable season 2? Although not much is out there in terms of details, Netflix did announce actress Iris Apatow and New Girl alum Lamorne Morris will recur as characters who cause a bit of mischief for the already chaotic relationship between Jackson and Ellis.
