The area round of the UIL playoffs is underway, here is a look at how El Paso teams are faring

Thursday, May 9

Class 3A

  • Tornillo dropped a close one in the series opener, 4-3, to Lubbock-Cooper Liberty. The Coyotes are making their fourth straight appearance in the area round.

Class 4A

  • Seminole scored the last seven runs of the game to beat Bowie, 11-4, in the series opener.

  • Riverside lost, 2-0, to West Plains, in the series opener.
