UGI Utilities to begin gas main replacement in Lebanon on May 27. What you need to know.

UGI Utilities officials are asking for residents to use caution as a gas main replacement project in Lebanon is set to start on May 27.

Officials said there will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.

Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

"Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours," officials said in a release Friday. "Parking will be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours."

Weather permitting, officials said construction is scheduled to be completed by early July

The work will impact the following streets:

  • Mifflin Street between North 12th Street and North 10th Street.

  • Monument Street between Decatur Street and North 10th Street.

  • North 11th Street between Meade Street and Lehman Street.

  • Jones Street between Crowell Street and Monument Street.

"UGI’s gas main replacement projects also provide an opportunity for some homes and businesses within the project areas to convert to natural gas," officials said, "UGI encourages anyone along project routes to contact the company at 800-276-2722 or gasconversion@ugi.com if they are interested in converting."
