March Madness is here, and the UConn Huskies are going dancing as the country's top-seeded team.

UConn are the reigning champions of men's college basketball after dominating and defeating San Diego State in last year's national title game, 76-59. The Huskies had high expectations entering the 2023-24 season coming off of their victory.

They have delivered on those expectations. On Saturday, UConn won the Big East tournament for the first time since 2011. The Huskies are undisputed conference champions after securing victories in 28 of their 31 regular season games and 18 of 20 conference matchups for the regular season title.

Now, UConn will prepare to take on No. 16 Stetson in Brooklyn, New York on Friday.

Here's everything to know about the UConn Huskies men's basketball team after Selection Sunday's bracket reveal.

When is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday, when the NCAA men's tournament bracket is revealed, takes place on Sunday, March 17 this year. The reveal show begins at 6 p.m. ET on CBS.

How does UConn stand heading into Selection Sunday?

The Huskies were a lock for a spot in the 68-team March Madness tournament even before the Big East tournament began thanks to their outstanding regular season performance.

Ahead of the Big East tournament, the Huskies were ranked No. 2 in the country in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll, trailing only Houston.

UConn won the Big East tournament for the first time since 2011 with a 73-57 win over Marquette, which gave them an automatic bid to the 68-team March Madness tournament.

Latest bracketology and predictions

USA TODAY's latest bracketology predictions have projected the 68-team tournament bracket ahead of Selection Sunday's official reveal.

With title upsets across several conferences – Iowa State's Big 12 win, Oregon's Pac-12 win and N.C. State's ACC win, to name a few – outlooks on the March Madness bracket have changed significantly.

UConn should now hold the No. 1 overall seed after Houston's title game loss, and North Carolina moves into a No. 1 seed of their own in the latest predictions after Tennessee's early SEC tournament exit.

What is KenPom?

KenPom is a college basketball advanced analytics site started by Ken Pomeroy, a former meteorologist and current college basketball analyst for The Athletic.

The KenPom site is best known for its college basketball rankings, which measure and rank the efficiency of all 362 teams playing in Division I men's basketball.

Several advanced metrics make up Pomeroy's college basketball rankings:

  • Adjusted Efficiency Margin: How many points a team would win (or lose) by against the "average" college basketball opponent. Calculated by subtracting AdjD from AdjO (see below).

  • Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (AdjO): How many points a team would score with 100 possessions against an average opponent.

  • Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (AdjD): How many points a team would allow per 100 possessions against an average opponent.

  • Adjusted Tempo: How many possessions a team has per 40 minutes (length of one game).

  • Luck: Essentially takes into account how teams perform in close games. In other words, how a team's actual record compares to its expected record using adjusted efficiencies.

  • Strength of Schedule: Broken down by opponents' Adjusted Efficiency Margin, AdjO and AdjD.

  • Non-conference strength of schedule (NCSOS): How good are the non-conference opponents on a team's schedule, measured by those opponents' Adjusted Efficiency Margin.
