Cincinnati Bearcats basketball received a visit from McDonald’s All-American Sean Stewart, who happens to be a former teammate of recent returnee Jizzle James, last week.

However Stewart, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward who played with Duke last season, will not team up with James and Wes Miller's Bearcats in the Big 12. Stewart, like James, is from Orlando where they were teammates on the Florida Rebels in the Nike EYBL circuit. But, he is heading to Ohio State, where he took a visit after UC.

Stewart’s intentions were reported to the On3 network and posted on Instagram early Friday afternoon.

The former five-star recruit averaged 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Blue Devils as a freshman. His best game for Duke was a 16-point, 10-rebound effort vs. La Salle last Nov. 21. His best ACC game was 12 points against North Carolina State March 4.

Stewart holds the Duke program standing vertical leap record at 36 inches, a half-inch better than the previous record held by Zion Williamson. He also has a gold medal playing for the USA U-17 National Team in the FIBA World Cup in Italy.

Stewart is 19-years-old. He is the seventh player to depart the Duke program via the portal this offseason.

With the portal closed, UC is still in the market for an experienced post player from those that entered the portal prior to May 1 deadline.
