An Englishman who killed his stepson days after the tot’s second birthday was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.

Martin Currie, 36, was watching porn before little Keigan O’Brien interrupted him Jan. 8, 2020, the Doncaster Free Press reported. Currie then attacked Keigan, let him lay dying and called his drug dealer.

Currie and his partner, 33-year-old Sarah O’Brien, left Keigan unconscious for two hours on the floor of their home in Doncaster, about 50 miles east of Manchester, according to the BBC.

U.K. prosecutors said Keigan probably suffered the deadly head injury from hard contact with a wall or floor, the BBC reported.

Keigan had been abused in weeks leading up to his death, according to the BBC. He had suffered a broken spine, broken ribs and broken arm during his time in Currie’s care.

Currie must serve at least 22 years of his life sentence, the BBC reported. Sarah O’Brien got eight years in prison for allowing the death of a child and child cruelty.
