Ty Teases 'Connection' With Amy After Tonight's 'Farmer Wants a Wife'

On last week's Farmer Wants a Wife, each of the guys chose one of their suitors for their second solo date of the season. Ahead of tonight's episode, in which we'll see how those dates go, Parade caught up with Farmer Ty, who picked shy Amy for his next one-on-one outing.

"That date was nice," he teased. "It was definitely a different dynamic than the other dates, because it was more about showing her around my hometown, which is fun."

The two went to a restaurant called Lambert's, which is known for throwing rolls at its customers (and serving ginormous salads, it would seem). "It wasn't outside, ranch-related, things like that," Ty said while on a press trip in Los Angeles (a long way from his farm in Sikeston, Missouri).

As seen in the new clip below, the pair discussed what they're each looking for in a partner.

"Somebody to do life with," Ty said.

"Someone that can be your rock when things get hard and also your best friend and someone to have fun with," Amy offered.

Then Ty asked if she wants kids.

“I’m glad you’re asking that, because it’s a serious question, and I’ve always wanted to be a mom," Amy answered. "I wouldn’t want to be in a serious relationship with someone who didn’t see themselves having kids. Do you see yourself having kids in the future?”

The teaser ends before we get to hear Ty's answer ("you'll have to tune in and watch that one," he told Parade). But he did confirm to us that he still has a "connection" with Amy post-date. "She has got such a sweet soul, and there's a lot more to Amy than she ever really lets on because she is quiet. She's reserved."

Overall, the date allowed their relationship to evolve. "We opened up, we got to talk a lot, and yeah, we're definitely closer," he said.

Farmer Wants a Wife airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
