Two unharmed chocolate labs — and no one else — found in cabin of tractor-trailer that smashed into a house

It’s unclear what caused a tractor-trailer to smash into the side of a recently renovated Massachusetts home and neither of the truck’s occupants — a pair of Labrador retrievers — is talking.

Braintree, Mass., resident Glenn Fillmore told news station WCVB that he was having dinner with his family Saturday when they heard a loud crash, then realized a truck had crashed into a neighbor’s house. What he saw next did little to clear up the matter.

“We open up the cab and there were two chocolate Labs looking at us,” Fillmore said. “We just shut the door and we jumped down.”

He speculated the dogs were in the truck’s front seat, where they tripped up something or another, and sent the vehicle into motion. The chocolate labs were reportedly uninjured, though the home their truck hit appeared to have been badly damaged.

“This is terrible,” local man Bob Joyce said. “These people just moved into this house. It’s a brand new house.”

Police appeared to have contacted the home’s owner through their Ring doorbell.

“You better get home because someone just wiped out the side of your house,’” Fillmore heard cops say.

Investigators are looking into the matter.
