Two new teams enter Nashville area boys basketball Small Class rankings

The Tennessean’s Nashville area Small Class boys basketball rankings have been released.

The Small Class list consists of Class 1A, 2A and Division II-A schools. Results were compiled from games between Feb. 5-10.

1. Columbia Academy (23-4) — The Bulldogs captured the Division II-A District 4 tournament title in dramatic fashion. Jeremy Jackson, Jr. hit a buzzer-beater to defeat BGA 61-59 in the semifinals. CA defeated PCA 62-60 in double overtime on Harrison Brownlee’s shot for the championship. Last week: No. 1. This week: vs. Clarksville Academy (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament).

2. Goodpasture (24-4) — The Cougars defeated Friendship Christian 64-46 for the DII-A District 4 title. Jayden Jones scored 21 points and received both regular-season and tournament MVP awards for the district. Last week: No. 3. This week: vs. BGA (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament). 

3. Providence Christian (22-4) — The Lions are still a dangerous team after losing to Columbia Academy. Judson Bjornstad combined for 38 points in the DII-A District 3 semifinals and finals. Last week: No. 2. This week: vs. Ezell-Harding (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament).

4. Whites Creek (19-5) — The Cobras defeated RePublic easily, winning two meetings 80-31 and 102-33. The schedule is going to get more difficult. Last week: No. 8. This week: vs. TBD (District 2A-7 tournament). 

5. Friendship Christian (18-8) — The Commanders defeated ranked Clarksville Academy, 72-57, but lost to Goodpasture 64-46 in the DII-A District 4 tournament championship. Noah Major scored 25 points against Clarksville Academy . Last week: No. 6. This week: vs. Webb School (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament).

6. Ezell-Harding (20-9) — Blake Dean scored 21 points in a close 63-60 win over Davidson Academy to open the DII-A District 4 tournament. The Eagles have a tough draw against PCA to open DII-A Middle Region. Last week: No. 7. This week: vs. PCA (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament). 

7. Webb School - Bell Buckle (17-11) — The Feet shook things up with a win over BGA in the DII-A District 3 consolation game. Joel Wyatt scored 12 points and Eli Brown added 10. Last week: Not ranked. This week: vs. Friendship Christian (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament).

8. BGA (23-6) — The Wildcats have lost four of five games after starting the season 22-2. Last week: No. 4.This week: vs. Goodpasture (Wednesday, DII-A Middle Region tournament). 

9. Clarksville Academy (21-7) — Clarksville Academy went 1-2 in the DII-A District 4 tournament. The Wildcats lost to Friendship Christian 72-57 despite 25 points from Cam Phillips. Last week: No. 5. This week: 

10. Mt. Pleasant (19-5) — Micah Dale scored 17 points and Jakyri McClure added 14 against Summertown to end the regular season. Last week: Not ranked. This week: vs. Summertown (Thursday, District 10-2A tournament). 

Dropped out: Cannon County, Loretto.
