Two sought for questioning in Cumberland County slaying

Two people are wanted for questioning in the shooting death of a man on Smith Road last month, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

William Keith Wilson II, 40, of Stedman, and Amber Byrne, 25, of Bunnlevel, are being sought by the Sheriff's Office in the Nov. 27 killing of Jossiel Rodriguez-Perez, 40, the release said.

According to police and 911 calls from the incident, Rodriguez-Perez and his friends were in the 3000 block of Smith attempting to confront an individual who stole a trailer when someone opened fire on the group, killing Rodriguez-Perez.

The father of three was an Army veteran who had served with the 82nd Airborne Division, a Fort Liberty spokesman confirmed.
