The shootings occurred five hours apart and in different parts of the city. Rochester Police Capt. Ryan Tauriello said officers do not believe that the two shootings were related.

Several hours later, a man in his 40s was seriously wounded, when he was shot at least once in his upper body on Lake Avenue, near Lorimer Street, in Rochester around 5:15 a.m., Tauriello said. The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries that were considered serious, but not life-threatening.

No charges have been filed in connection with either shooting. The shooting victims names were not released. Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call 911.
