Two people hospitalized in critical condition after single-car crash in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM Two people remain in critical condition on Thursday, a day after a single-car crash on Edgell Road, authorities said.

The unidentified man and woman are in critical but stable condition at Boston hospitals, according to the Framingham Police Department. Police declined to release the victims' ages or hometowns.

According to a press release from the Framingham Police Department, the crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. near 483 Edgell Road. Police say a white sedan crashed into a utility pole.

The man in the car was transported by medical rescue helicopter to a Boston hospital. The woman was transported by ambulance to a Boston hospital.

Edgell Road remained closed for several hours on Wednesday night as police worked at the scene.

Police did not say whether the two people were wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
