Two juveniles taken to hospital after brawl and assault at Teaneck basketball courts

A fight broke out at the Votee Park basketball courts in Teaneck on Tuesday night where two juvenile males were assaulted, possibly with weapons, and were treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

At approximately 8:18 p.m. officers received several 911 calls about a large fight at the park. Upon the arrival of authorities, a juvenile was found laying on the ground among the crowded park by the basketball court area.

Video footage was obtained from witnesses that showed the victim being punched and dragged to the ground by two unidentified males, officials said.

The juvenile was also kicked multiple times in the head while on the ground and was possibly struck with an unknown weapon. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

Another juvenile male who appeared to have been assaulted was found later that evening. He also was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for his non-life threatening injuries.

The brawl is still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
