Two people were killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash between a pickup truck and minivan, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The two-vehicle collision happened at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to Cpl. David Jones.

The Darlington County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the victims who were killed, but Coroner Todd Hardee said a man and woman were driving the vehicles, WPDE reported.

Four passengers in the Chrysler minivan were injured and taken to an area hospital, Jones said. Further information on their conditions was not available.

There was no word if any of the occupants in the vehicles were wearing seat belts.
