Investigators said no foul play was involved, but now say that inconsistencies kept popping up as the case developed.

John Wayne Sutton, who was already behind bars on unrelated drug charges, and Laura Lovequist have both been arrested and charged with murder, according to police.

Both allegedly confessed to murdering Maldonado.

Officials said the three are connected, but did not specify the nature of their relationship.

“I can’t stress enough how important it was for the public to come forward with different pieces of information that investigators were able to put together and bring justice for the victim,’' Chief Deputy Mason Bynum said in a statement.
