Iconic romance fantasy franchise Twilight is finally getting its own LEGO set.

Based on a series of novels by Stephanie Meyer, the most famous vampire/ werewolf/ human love triangle of the YA genre spawned four box-office smashing films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

The plot of both book and film sees Stewart's Bella Swan move to the Pacific Northwest town of Forks, where she meets the centuries-old, bloodsucking Cullen family, who live in an iconic house – and it's that house that is receiving a LEGO makeover.

As part of a project run by the LEGO Review Board, fans are able to submit their own LEGO Ideas creations for an official review by the team if they reach 10,000 supporters – meaning their entries could become actual LEGO products.

Designed by Nick Micheels, the iconic Cullen house is one of those sets.

LEGO Ideas Community Activation Manager Hasan Jensen and LEGO Ideas Marketing Manager Michelle Ta shared the news, and the pair confirmed that the Twilight set is one of two added to a list of community ideas now "in development".

"[This set] will bring back lots of amazingly fond memories for all of you," Jensen said. "For us, it's a super exciting new collaboration. It's of course the Twilight Cullen House."

Micheels' concept for the LEGO house included a brick-built wolf, four Minifigures based on various Twilight characters, and of course, the key aspects of the Cullen abode for fans to recreate scenes from the movies.

Speaking about the set, Micheels revealed the most important features he wanted to include, as well as how he came up with the design.

"I studied the actual house in as many ways as I could online, as well as the films’ representation of the house which of course is going to be different," he said.

"I then had to plan my own interpretative blueprint for how to represent the most important aspects of the building at a minifigure scale while staying within a 3,000-piece limit.

"I thought of scenes from the movies and knew I needed the staircase with room for the graduation caps, a piano, Edward's room, the kitchen, and the library, so a lot of the design effort went into deciding how I could creatively squeeze all of those scenes into a much smaller blueprint."

Given that the set isn't officially in production yet, it's not open to order, but that doesn't mean that Digital Spy doesn't have you covered for the best LEGO sets this festive season, including items based on Marvel, Star Wars, Super Mario and Batman characters.
