South Carolina added its own fireworks to local Fourth of July celebrations on Monday afternoon.

USC secured a commitment from four-star linebacker Jaden Robinson over a top four that also included Maryland, Kentucky and Michigan. The Florida native is rated the No. 379 player and No. 33 linebacker in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Robinson took an official visited to South Carolina on June 24 following trips to Kentucky and Maryland. He also earned an offer from the home-state Gators on Sunday, one day prior to announcing his commtiment to the Gamecocks.

With Robinson’s pledge, he becomes the latest Florida product to land in USC’s increasingly Sunshine State-heavy 2023 class. South Carolina nabbed a commitment from fellow four-star linebacker Grayson “Pup” Howard last week, while Florida prospects four-star athlete Kelton Henderson, three-star tight end Connor Cox and three-star safety Cameron Upshaw announced their pledges in the middle of last month.

Robinson is also the fifth four-star prospect to commit to the Gamecocks in this recruiting cycle along with Georgia prospects offensive lineman Trovon Baugh and running back Dontavious Braswell, Henderson and Howard.

South Carolina now has 13 commitments in its 2023 class that ranks No. 27 nationally and No. 6 in the Southeastern Conference, per 247Sports.
