Created by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes (who also serve as co-showrunners), the sitcom centers on Bennie Upshaw (Epps), a well-meaning mechanic in Indianapolis doing his best to take care of his family while also tolerating his sardonic sister-in-law Lucretia (Sykes) — all without a blueprint for success.

Bernie’s family unit includes wife Regina (Fields), son Bernard (Jermelle Simon) and daughters Aaliyah and Maya (Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins and Journey Christine).

Season 5 will see the Upshaws “continue to ride life’s ups and downs, including new jobs, bigger dreams, health struggles and some major life surprises but still hanging on with the love that comes with family,” per the official synopsis.
