TVLine Items: The Artful Dodger Trailer, Tony Awards Date/New Venue and More

The Artful Dodger is readying for his next steal in the first teaser trailer for the Australian import.

Premiering Wednesday, Nov. 29 on Hulu, the eight-episode series explores “the adult double life of Charles Dickens’ famous prince of thieves, Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger (played by The Queen’s Gambit’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster), whose fast pickpocketing fingers have turned into the skilled hands of a surgeon,” per the official synopsis.

“Set in 1850s Australia, in the lively colony of Port Victory, Dodger’s past returns to haunt him with the arrival of Fagin (Fargo’s David Thewlis), luring him back into a world of crime. A greater threat — to Dodger’s heart — is Lady Belle (Good Trouble’s Maia Mitchell), the Governor’s daughter, determined to become the colony’s first female surgeon,” the description continues.
