Sunday’s Duke vs. Michigan State game in the Second Round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament was a thriller.

The No. 7 seed Spartans looked in control late in the second half until the Blue Devils came storming back. Paolo Banchero dropped 19 points and dished out four assists to get No. 2 seed Duke past Michigan State 85-76.

It’s not too often the tournament gets a battle of blue bloods in the Second Round. A massive audience tuned in to see it.

Moments ago, it was announced that 11.2 million viewers watched Duke vs. Michigan State on Sunday.

“Sunday’s Michigan State-Duke game drew 11.2 million viewers on CBS, making it the most-watched NCAA Tournament game of this year’s first week,” Kevin Pauga tweeted.

It’s no surprise the ratings are so massive. It’s also not so surprising the NCAA Tournament committee paired Duke and Michigan State in the same region.

“These kinda ratings are what made it so predictable that the committee was always going to place Duke & MSU in the same region for the 3rd-straight NCAA Tournament (in which Duke made the field),” a fan added.

Duke, the No. 2 seed in the West Region will take on No. 3 seed Texas Tech this Thursday in the Sweet 16.

The winner advances to the Elite 8 where it’ll play the winner of Gonzaga vs. Arkansas.
