Have you ever wondered what animals do when we aren't around? One might guess that they spend that time grazing or eating. But what if they're actually playing Jenga? One turkey at the Gentle Barn really loves the game, much to the internet's surprise.

Whoever thought to give the bird the party game is a genius. It not only kept the turkey engaged but was so darn interesting to watch.

It's not everyday that you see a barn animal having a game night. But the real question is whether the turkey, Spirit, was any good? From the look of the video, Spirit has just as much strategy as we do.

In the video, the Gentle Barn explained that turkeys are "inquisitive" and "curious" animals "who love to explore, learn, and play."

"Just like humans, turkeys love a new game," the caption reads. "Spirit, who we rescued from Thanksgiving last year, is curious and smart, so we gave her a game of Jenga to see how she'd like it and to give her more enrichment."

That explains things. Spirit really surprised the comments section with her expert-level Jenga skills. "I think she did pretty [darn] awesome," wrote one person. "She did well. Of course she won," someone else agreed. "I love turkeys so much. Incredible souls," one commenter gushed.

Turkeys Are Smarter Than We Think

For some reason turkeys have been given a bad rap. Many people think that turkeys aren't smart, but they are actually highly intelligent creatures. In fact they're similar to cats and dogs. Turkeys are playful animals and have unique personalities, a fact that many people tend to not be aware of.

Turkeys can have strong social bonds with each other, and can actually recognize each other's voices. More than 20 unique vocalizations have been recognized in turkeys.

Turkeys also have excellent hearing, despite not having any external ears! It's true. Turkeys also have incredible sight — they can see movement up to 100 yards away. They have a field of vision of about 270 degrees and can even see in color!

Turkeys are a lot faster than we give them credit for. Wild turkeys can fly as fast as 55 miles per hour and they can run at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.

Turkeys have a lot more going on upstairs then we give them credit for. They deserve a lot more of our respect.
