Tulsa attorney is serial rapist, assaulted at least 6 women, police say

A Tulsa defense attorney raped six different women dating back to 2005, police said, adding they believe there could be more unidentified victims.

Jeffrey Krigel, 34, was arrested Friday on one count of first-degree rape, but police say they’ve spoken with six alleged victims, the Tulsa World reported.

Krigel’s single charge is related to an April 29 incident, according to online court records.

The alleged victim told police that she was drinking water and speaking with Krigel on his porch that night, but the next thing she remembers is waking up at 2:30 a.m. the next day, the Tulsa World reported. Krigel texted the woman asking her to write a statement saying he never raped her, according to the cops.

The woman also told investigators that Krigel assaulted her multiple times before that night, including having sex with her while she was sleeping and forcing her to perform sex acts, according to the World.

Police said the other alleged victims had similar accounts, local CBS affiliate KOTV reported.

Cops said five of the six women were in a relationship with Krigel when they were assaulted, according to KOTV. The earliest reported assault occurred in Dallas in 2005, while the alleged victim was still in college, police said.

“When people look at rape and think about rape, the first thing that comes to mind is someone jumping out of the shadows on the jogging trail with a gun or a knife,” Tulsa police officer Darin Ehrenrich told KOTV. “When the overwhelming statistical likelihood is if you’re going to be sexually assaulted, you’re going to be sexually assaulted by someone that is known to you.”

Tulsa cops encouraged anyone assaulted by Krigel to speak with their investigators.

Krigel was booked into Tulsa County jail on Friday and held on $200,000 bond, according to online jail records.
