BASEBALL

Neenah 4, Fond du Lac 2

NEENAH - The Rockets used a four-run third inning to hold off the Cardinals to earn the Fox Valley Association win.

Gus Weinholzer allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts in six innings to earn the win. Isaac Verbruggen pitched an inning, allowing a run and a walk with one strikeout.

Verbruggen powered the offense with three hits, while Andrew Carlson drove in a pair of runs.

Kaukauna 3, Oshkosh North 0

OSHKOSH - Bron Schaefer pitched a complete game to lead the Ghosts to the shutout over the Spartans.

Schaefer allowed two hits, walked three and struck out 13.

Tyler Jezeski had two doubles and drove in a run for Kaukauna. Chris Degroot also drove in a run.

Appleton North 7, Appleton East 2

APPLETON - Brandon Schopf had two hits and three RBI to lead the Lightning to the win over the Patriots.

Appleton North finished with 10 hits. East had five hits.

Kimberly 9, Hortonville 5

KIMBERLY - The Papermakers pounded out 12 hits in the win over the Polar Bears.

Tanner Hart had two hits, including a grand slam, and finished with five RBI for Kimberly. Sawyer Deering, who pitched the first five innings, had three hits including a double and a home run. He had two RBI.

Kimberly’s Connor Olson had three hits, while Braedon Ellefson and Hudson Wagner both had two hits.

Freedom 10, Clintonville 9

FREEDOM - The Irish used a pair of big innings to stave off the Truckers in North Eastern Conference action.

Freedom plated four runs in the first and five in the fourth, and then held off Clintonville late after the Truckers scored three in the seventh.

Freedom’s Carson Clausen, Drew Kortz and Parker Jochimsen all had two hits for the Irish. Matt Eberhardt earned the victory, pitching 3⅓ innings of relief.

With the win, the Irish improves to 9-8 overall and 5-6 in the NEC. Clintonville falls to 1-10.

Wrightstown 11, Waupaca 6

WAUPACA - The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to go ahead 9-6 in the North Eastern Conference win over the Comets.

Quade Thompson was 4-for-4, including a double, with two RBI for Wrightstown. Landon Helphrey had three hits and drove in two runs. Trevor Vande Hey added two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.

Mason Driscoll pitched 3⅓ scoreless innings to get the win. He allowed two hits, walked four and struck out five.

Max Dolski had three hits and an RBI for Waupaca. Henry Williams had a double and drove in three runs, and Riley Bechard had two hits, including a solo home run.

Little Chute 2, Oconto Falls 1

LITTLE CHUTE - Charlie Vanden Burgt pitched a complete game, allowing one run on three hits while striking out nine to lead the Mustangs to the win over the Panthers.

Isaac Verhagen had two hits for Little Chute.

Jack Adler took the loss for Oconto Falls.

Chilton 15, Roncalli 2

MANITOWOC - The Tigers scored five runs in the first inning and finished with 18 hits in the victory over the Jets.

Mike Vanden Heuvel was 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Peyton Juckem added two hits and three RBI, and Rayden Wagner and Hudson Ludwig also drove in two runs each.

Ryan Pierquet added three hits, while Bennet Woelfel, Hunter Rolbiecki and Ludwig each had two hits for Chilton.

Juckem pitched a complete game. In six innings, he allowed four hits, walked three and struck out seven.

St. Mary Catholic 8, Reedsville 1

FOX CROSSING - Colin Nigl, Joseph Pirillo and Jacob Ernsting had two hits each and Fisher Mackenzie doubled in three runs to power the Zephyrs past the Panthers in Big East Conference action.

St. Mary Catholic scored three in the first, two in the second, one in the third, one in the fifth and one in the sixth as it cruised to the win.

Reedsville scored its lone run in the sixth.

Ethan Plutz picked up the win, pitching six innings, allowing two hits, one earned run and four walks, with four strikeouts.

Shiocton 12, Amherst 2

SHIOCTON - The Chiefs scored 11 times in the fifth inning to turn a one-run deficit into the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Shiocton was led by Carter Young had three hits with a double and three RBI, while Braylon Krull was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Bennett Schmidt was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

James Mutchie earned the win, allowing two runs on one hit with three walks and seven strikeouts.

SOFTBALL

Oshkosh West 2, Appleton East 1

OSHKOSH - Laina Hammen and Emmy Reichenberger had two hits each and the Wildcats held off the Patriots.

West scored in the first and third innings, while the Patriots plated their lone run in the seventh.

Fond du Lac 5, Appleton North 0

FOND DU LAC - Susan Vokes allowed two hits over seven innings to lead the Cardinals to the win over the Lightning.

Mackenna Shultis had three hits and stole three bases for Fond du Lac. Vokes had two doubles and two RBI, and Ava Vermillion had two doubles.

Menasha 4, New London 2

MENASHA - The Bluejays plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth as they rallied past the Bulldogs in Bay Conference action.

Addie Lund was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and two runs scored, while Hannah Neubert was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Teagan Massey-Plamann pitched three innings of relief, allowing two hits and two walks, while striking out three to earn the win.

The Bulldogs scored their runs in the first and fourth innings.

Freedom 2, Fox Valley Lutheran 0

APPLETON - The Foxes’ Madison Babcock struck out 10 batters but Freedom was still able to pick up the win over Fox Valley Lutheran.

Wrightstown 5, Little Chute 0

LITTLE CHUTE - Mallory Colwell went 4-for-4, including a two-run home run, to power the Tigers to the victory.

Bryn Amundson added two hits and two RBI for the Tigers.

Colwell went the distance on the mound, allowing two hits.

Winneconne 10, Ripon 0

RIPON - The Wolves scored early and often and cruised to the East Central Conference win.

Winneconne scored three in the first, three in the second, two in the third and two in the fourth.

Claire Kollat and Izzy Schaffer led the Wolves’ offense with three hits each, while Claire Schaffer and Grace Mitchell added two apiece. Mitchell had a triple, while Jaidyn Halder, Izzy Schaffer and Kollat all doubled.

Hilbert 18, Sheboygan Lutheran 2

SHEBOYGAN - The Wolves pounded 18 hits on their way to the Big East crossover win.

Kaylie Hernke was 3-for-5 with five RBI, including an inside-the-park home run. Riley Polifka was 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Addison Grenzer was 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Annalise Haser had two hits for Sheboygan Lutheran.

Hilbert scored four in the first, eight in the second, two in the fourth and four in the fifth.

St. Mary Catholic 8, Peshtigo 4

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs took a 5-3 lead with three runs in the fifth inning and went on to the nonconference win.

Nevaeh Saringer had a two-run double and Sammi Weiss added an RBI single for SMC in the inning.

Saringer added a three-run home run in the sixth inning and finished with six RBI.

Emily Vogel went 4-for-4 and scored two runs for the Zephyrs. Rhiannon Reichenbacher added two hits, including a double, and scored three runs.

Peshtigo was led by Nevaeh Russell, who was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Saringer was the winning pitcher. She pitched 2⅔ innings, allowed one run and two hits.

GIRLS SOCCER

Winneconne 9, New London 0

WINNECONNE - The Wolves scored eight goals in the first half in the win over the Bulldogs.

Callee Fink scored three goals for Winneconne, with Holly Arens, Suri Hottmann, Alyssa Koval, Olivia Knobloch, Lacey Stephens and Addison Cegielski each adding one goal.

Arens, Kellyn Kresal, Elianna Hardy, Millie Braman, Cegielski and Brooklyn Messerschmidt each had an assist for Winneconne.

Macy Dodd had one save in goal for Winneconne.
