BASEBALL

De Pere 1, Ashwaubenon 0

DE PERE - The Redbirds scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth for the game’s lone score as De Pere held off the Jaguars.

Axel Donaldson reached on an error to open the inning, stole second base, was bunted to third by Mason Sequin and scored on Easton Arendt’s sacrifice fly.

Donaldson pitched six strong innings, striking out eight and walking one, while allowing three hits. Arendt pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning with two strikeouts to earn the save.

De Pere (5-1, 4-1 FRCC) will play at Manitowoc (5-0) on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Notre Dame 5, Sheboygan North 3

SHEBOYGAN - Noah Smits pitched a complete game and struck out six to lead the Tritons over the Golden Raiders.

Christian Collins had a bases-loaded double in the sixth inning to drive in three runs for Notre Dame.

Drew Siudzinski and Emmett Hunter each had two hits. Micah Marzec and Aaron Heyroth both had an RBI for the Tritons.

Denmark 1, Oconto Falls 0

DENMARK - The Vikings defeated the Panthers on a walk-off walk to Braedyn Heezen that scored Brandon Dvorak.

Dvorak was the winning pitcher, coming on in relief with runners on first and second and no one out in the top of the seventh.

Grant Schroeder pitched the first 6-plus innings, allowing three hits while striking out nine.

Jack Adler had two hits, including a double, for Oconto Falls.

Fox Valley Lutheran 5, Wrightstown 0

APPLETON - Jack Schlueter was 2-for-3 with two RBI as the Foxes scored three times in the first and two in the second to earn the North Eastern Conference win.

Malachi Kramer also drove in a pair of runs for FVL.

Trevor Vande Hey was 2-for-4 to lead the Tigers.

Alex Tornio picked up the win, pitching four innings, allowing four hits, four walks and striking out eight.

Wausaukee 17, Goodman-Pembine 2

GOODMAN - The Rangers took advantage of four errors and 10 walks as they scored three in the first, nine in the second and five in the fourth to earn the win.

Conner Schroeder was 2-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, while Ryan Wojcik was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Also driving in two runs were Christian Deschane, Luke Smith and Evan Suennen.

Kyle Braaten had two RBI for Goodman-Pembine.

Coleman 6, Crivitz 3

CRIVITZ - Logan Kurth allowed two runs on four hits and four walks with nine strikeouts in 5⅓ innings as the Cougars rallied past the Wolverines.

Crivitz scored once in the first and led until the fourth when the Cougars tied the game. Coleman added two in the fifth and three in the sixth to take charge.

Crivitz scored twice in the bottom of the seventh.

Miles Lewis had two hits and two RBI for the Cougars.

Colten Tarmann had two hits for Crivitz.

Wabeno/Laona 10, Green Bay NEW Lutheran 3

ASHWAUBENON - Walker Winkleman was 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two stolen bases and three runs scored to power the Rebels past the Blazers in nonconference action at Capital Credit Union Park.

William Collins was 2-for-4 with a run scored for Wabeno/Laona.

Leading the Blazers was Sam Hillman, who was 2-for-3 with a triple and a stolen base.

SOFTBALL

De Pere 9, Notre Dame 1

GREEN BAY - Addison Kreutz had the hot bat for the Redbirds as she went 3-for-5 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored as De Pere cruised to the Fox River Classic Conference win.

Reese Falish was dominant in the circle, allowing one earned run on five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Other top Redbirds hitters included Olivia Baugnet, who was 2-for-5 with two RBI, and Megan Zellner and Falish, both with two hits and one RBI.

Addy Simpson took the loss for the Tritons, going four innings while allowing six hits, four runs (three earned) with two strikeouts and three walks.

She also helped lead the Notre Dame offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Rissa Peters was 2-for-3.

Green Bay Preble 6, Bay Port 5

SUAMICO - Hannah Smith and Katie Geydoshek had two hits each as the Hornets slipped past the Pirates in Fox River Classic Conference action.

Geydoshek was the winning pitcher, while Tenley Kuehn struck out two batters in the seventh inning for the save.

Morgan VandenBranden had two hits for the Pirates.

Algoma 9-2, Southern Door 4-5

BRUSSELS - The Wolves and Eagles earned the Packerland Conference split.

In the opener, Megan Zimmer had four hits, including a three-run homer, and Ryley Zimmerman had three hits to propel Algoma.

Maci Zimmerman pitched seven innings and struck out 11 to pick up the win, while Ashlyn Delfosse took the loss.

Southern Door was led by Abi Tooley with three hits, while Bella Price and Sophia Counard had two each.

In Game 2, the Eagles won in five innings.

Southern Door was led by Delfosse with two hits, including a two-run home run, and Madyson Counard had a two-run home run.

Alanah Kaye pitched five innings, striking out three and allowing just four hits.

Coleman 10, Crivitz 4

CRIVITZ - The Cougars started fast and cruised to the Marinette & Oconto Conference win.

Coleman scored five times in the first, three in the fourth and one in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Wolverines scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh to close out the scoring.

Annabelle Markiewicz led the Cougars with three hits, while Hailey Ermis, Courtney DenRuyter, Macy Nowak and Alyssa Kurth had two each. DenRuyter had two doubles and three RBI.

DenRuyter picked up the win, pitching seven innings, allowing one hit, four earned runs on 16 walks and 15 strikeouts.

Iola-Scandinavia 14, Menominee Indian 0

KESHENA - The Thunderbirds (6-2, 5-0 CWC-East) blanked the Eagles in a five-inning contest.

Brooklyn Berrens had three hits while Brylee Jueds, Ava Printz and Katie Rosenthal each had two hits for the Thunderbirds. Berrens drove in three runs while Jueds and Maya Munoz drove in two runs. Jueds and Rosenthal had a double and triple, respectively.

Pitcher Julia Munoz pitched the five innings to earn the shutout win. She allowed one hit, no walks while striking out 11 batters.

Mishicot 6, Sevastopol 0

MISHICOT - Kiran Sanford tossed a seven-inning no-hitter to lead Mishicot to the nonconference win. She walked four and struck out 15.

Kaelin Adair was 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI, while Katelyn Callahan was 3-for-3 with an RBI.

GIRLS SOCCER

Marinette 8, Antigo 2

ANTIGO - Sierra Schreiner led the Marines with four goals and three assists as they cruised to the nonconference win over the Red Robins.

Josie Smerchek contributed a goal and three assists, while Bry Torkko, Jada Jones and Peyton Gamelin had one goal each for Marinette.

Lacy Carviou had four saves in net for the Marines.

Sheboygan Falls 4, Luxemburg-Casco 1

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Emi Kuhn scored off an assist from Diem Bonness for the Spartans’ only goal in the loss to the Falcons.

Tabi Lemens made 10 saves in goal for Luxemburg-Casco.
