Tuesday's high school results: Manchester, Mogadore, Green win in boys basketball

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • HUDSON 62, BRECKSVILLE 52 Sophomore Nathan Judy scored 21 points and sophomore Jayden Carlton added 19 points Tuesday night to lead the visiting Explorers (14-7, 8-6) to a win over the Suburban League National Conference champion Bees (17-4, 12-2). Hudson has won four straight heading into Friday's Senior Night at home against Highland.

  • “I am seeing togetherness,” Hudson coach Michael Brown said. “I thought our players stayed disciplined at both ends of the floor tonight. We have really been working on putting together four solid quarters and the past few weeks we have been doing that.”

  • Brecksville senior Luke Skaljac, a Miami of Ohio recruit, scored 25 points.

  • GREEN 59, ELLET 29 Senior Brady Rollyson scored 14 points and junior Anthony Fortunato scored 13 points to lead host Green (16-5) over Ellet (5-14). Bulldogs sophomore Sam Dubravetz added nine points.

  • CUYAHOGA FALLS 65, FIRESTONE 56 Sophomore Hayden Johnson scored 25 points to lead visiting Falls (8-13) past Firestone (5-16). Falls senior Drew Huffman contributed 13 points and 17 rebounds.

  • MOGADORE 52, GARFIELD 44 The host Wildcats (18-3) topped the Rams (11-9) with three players scoring in figures: seniors Devin Graham (19 points), Layne Miller (15 points) and Corey Lehner (11 points).

  • MANCHESTER 69, TUSLAW 41 The Panthers won their final regular-season home game in a gym they have called home since the 1959-1960 school year. Senior Brady Johnson scored 16 points, senior Logan Carr added 15 points and junior Landon Kieffer had eight points to lead Manchester (10-11, 7-7) past Tuslaw (0-22, 0-14) in a Principals Athletic Conference game.

BOYS DIVING

  • Division I state finals Dominic Roberto of Solon won the 1-meter championship with 591.75 points at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton. New Albany’s Hamish Patel placed second with 545.45 points and Solon’s Mitch Caldwell was third with 531.30 points. Jackson’s Levi Hellmann finished fifth with 508.7 points and Hudson’s Jack McDaniel took sixth with 500.55 points. Jackson’s Andon Haines was ninth with 442.75 points.

  • Division II state finals Jackson Monus of Bexley won the title with 483.05 points at Branin. Bay’s Charles Vatolin finished second with 419.85 points and Bryan’s Kaedyn Ward was third with 408.3 points. Aurora’s Colten McCrae finished fourth with 392.3 points.
