Rock the Country in Gonzales
The opening weekend for the Rock the Country music festival, featuring headlining acts Kid Rock Jason Aldean, kicked off in Ascension Parish April 5-6 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
After much speculation as to who the "huge surprise guest" was on the flyer, Tucker Carlson introduced Kid Rock during the second night of the festival. The slate of music acts for the two days in Gonzales, which both had effectively perfect spring weather, included Hank Williams Jr., Big & Rich featuring Gretchen Wilson, Uncle Kracker, Gavin Adcock, Sadie Bass, Koe Wetzel, Travis Tritt, Elvie Shane and Kolby Cooper.

Student Art Expo offers free family fun

Downtown Lafayette will come alive this weekend with the Student Arts Expo, a festival of creativity and culture with performances and visual arts exhibitions from Lafayette Parish public school students. The festival features hundreds of students from band, chorale, dance and theatre programs across the parish.

Jet Coffee has officially opened its third location at the Ambassador Town Center with officially opening the first rooftop coffee bar in Lafayette. The new location not only features a rooftop coffee bar, but a drive-thru. This Lafayette-based coffee shop is a locally owned shop that opened in 2019, with a second location in Broussard at 101 Camino Real Road, and a fourth location is opening on Johnston street.
