TSSAA baseball: 7-RBI, 2-home run game among Nashville area boys athlete of week candidates

TSSAA baseball and soccer athletes had some big performances in the Nashville area last week.

You can vote for the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries boys athlete of the week below. Nominees are from all classes in competition from March 18-23.

Voting will close Thursday at noon.

Bennett Glasgow, Brentwood: Glasgow pitched five innings, gave up two hits with 10 strikeouts in a 9-0 win over Summit.

Ben Grant, Centennial: Grant's two-RBI double lifted the Cougars over Page, 9-7.

Tyler Cross, Goodpasture: Cross was 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBIs in a 7-0 win over Alabama Christian.

Luke Lawson, Hillsboro: Lawson was 3-for-3 with a double and two home runs with seven RBIs in a 20-1 win over Stratford.

Campbell Carpenter, Independence: Carpenter was 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and five RBIs in an 11-6 loss to Nolensville.

Madden Williams, Lipscomb Academy: Williams was 1-for-3 with four RBIs in a 12-5 win over Stewarts Creek.

Fletcher Shirley, MBA: Shirley was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs in an 8-5 win over Lipscomb Academy.

Joseph Garrett, Mt. Juliet: Garrett pitched seven innings allowing only four hits and striking out 13 in a 4-0 win over Pope John Paul II.

Michael Geyer, MTCS: Geyer scored two goals in MTCS soccer’s a 4-1 win over Ezell-Harding.

Nate Webb, Pope John Paul II: Webb was 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs in a 13-12 loss to Watertown.

Carter Casabella, Station Camp: Casabella threw a complete game, gave up one hit and struck out 12 as the Bison blanked Beech, 2-0.

Lucas Houston, Ravenwood: Houston was 2-for-3 with a double and home run with four RBIs in a 10-0 win over Franklin.

Jake Campbell, Summit: Campbell was 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs in a 9-2 win over Scotts Hill.

Gunnar Boles, Webb School: Boles was 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs in a 17-5 win over USN.
