Puyallup residents have a chance to sip wine, beer or cider as they visit downtown businesses next month.

SIP Puyallup is returning after a two-year hiatus. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2-6 p.m. and is hosted by the Puyallup Main Street Association, Washington State Fair and The Ezra at Pioneer Park.

The $35 general ticket will supply attendees with 10 tasting tickets. The $50 VIP ticket will offer tasting tickets and tickets to the State Fair’s Oktoberfest, among other things. Tickets can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/sippuyallup.

Attendees will start at the parking lot of Smile Solutions at 109 N. Meridian, where they’ll get a wine bag, a map of the “tasting spots” (participating businesses), as well as their tasting tickets.

Over 20 businesses, including Atomic Genius Records, Victoria Sells Antiques and Bright Eyes Photography, will have beverages for attendees to try. Savory and Sweet, Trackside Pizza, and Aura Salon and Spa are also participating.

Attendees can expect to get a taste of wine from Treveri Cellars as well as cider from Fierce County Cider. Top Down Brewery Co. and Browne Family Vineyards are also in the mix, event planner Kelty Pierce said.

“It’s a great way to come and shop and enjoy an afternoon with your friends and family while tasting incredible Northwest wines,” event planner Stacy Ringer said.
