Trump advisor Jenna Ellis intentionally mocks trans woman health official as ‘this guy’

A White House crony is openly flaunting her transphobia.

Jenna Ellis, a senior legal advisor for President Trump’s reelection campaign, shockingly referred to a female Pennsylvania health official as a man on Monday.

Remarking on Dr. Rachel Levine, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health and one of the prominent point persons working on COVID-19 relief efforts, Ellis posted on social media a photo of the trans woman who decided to transition in 2011, with the caption: “This guy is making decisions about your health.”

The tweet included a link to a May story in which Levine asked to be addressed by female pronouns after a reporter repeatedly called her “sir” during a press briefing.

The stunning Twitter post was roundly repudiated by officials as well as everyday citizens.

“Dr. Levine is laser-focused on assisting Pennsylvanians in the midst of a national pandemic,” Nate Wardle, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Department of Health told The Hill on Monday. “She does not have time for this nonsense.”

Also slamming the degrading tweet was the Human Rights Campaign, which described Ellis’ comments as an attempt to dehumanize Levine, a prominent expert with more than 30 years of medical experience.

“Jenna Ellis is a bigot and Dr. Levine is a patriot — plain and simple,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “Dr. Levine illustrates character and patriotism while Ellis cannot even define those terms.”

But Ellis stunningly doubled down on her bigotry with a snotty rejoinder.

“(The Human Rights Campaign) thinks it can define character and patriotism while it apparently can’t even define male and female.”

“(Levine) is a world-class public health expert who has been saving countless thousands of lives,” replied Twitter user Brian Sims to Ellis’ second tweet. “I realize you may not know what that looks like. She’s also a hero to LGBTQ+ people like me and doesn’t deserve your scorn or mockery.”
