Before True Crime Podcasts and Docus, There Was America’s Most Wanted: Watch Promo for Fox Return (Exclusive)

America’s Most Wanted is on its way back and looking to add to its tally of more than 1,190 (!) captured criminals since the true crime series’ inception. Joining Emmy-winning host John Walsh in that campaign will be his son Callahan Walsh, as seen in TVLine’s exclusive first look at a promo for AMW‘s return, on Fox.

A groundbreaking series that very much preceded the scads of true crime podcasts, documentaries and docuseries now trying to claim our time, America’s Most Wanted will kick off its first new season in almost three years on Monday, Jan. 22, at 8/7c.

Series front man John Walsh, who had to sit out the 2021 revival (due to his commitment to Investigation Discovery’s In Pursuit With John Walsh), is back as host, this time sharing the duties with his son Callahan, who is an advocate for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Callahan previously joined his dad for the aforementioned In Pursuit series.

Each week on AMW, John and Callahan will turn to viewers’ leads and information as they analyze gripping cases from across the U.S., ranging from horrific murders and deadly drug rings to devastating teenage overdoses and more. In that quest, they will consult with a team of experts representing law enforcement units.

America’s Most Wanted as always will offer an opportunity for viewers at home to serve as “armchair detectives” and help law enforcement investigate – and possibly capture — dangerous fugitives.

Walsh originally launched America’s Most Wanted on Fox in 1988, after his six-year-old son Adam was abducted from a mall near their home. Adam’s remains were found two weeks later.
