Truck driver killed on I-435 in Johnson County was from Missouri, Shawnee police said
The truck driver killed in a crash Friday on Interstate 435 in Johnson County has been identified as a 50-year-old from Holden, Missouri.
Cheryl Wilson, the driver of a commercial dump truck, was killed in the rollover crash, Shawnee police said in an update Saturday.
Officers were called in response to the crash on the interstate, just south of Midland Drive, shortly before 3 p.m. Friday, Shawnee police said in a statement. The driver collided with an unoccupied pickup truck, parked on the highway shoulder, while headed south.
Wilson was ejected during the rollover and suffered fatal injuries, police said. Shawnee’s traffic unit is investigating the crash.
No other injuries were reported. Police said traffic on the highway was affected for several hours.
