Truck broadsides car near Fresno in fatal crash. Clovis woman ID’d as victim

A 57-year-old Clovis woman was killed in a collision with a pickup southeast of Fresno, the Fresno County Corner’s Office confirmed Wednesday.

The woman was a passenger about 5 p.m. Monday in a Toyota Corolla driven by a 25-year-old woman as they headed south on Temperance Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Clovis woman killed in the crash was identified as Manjit Kaur Grewal by the coroner’s office.

The Toyota driver failed to heed a stop sign at North Avenue, CHP said, and was broadsided by a Ford F-250 driven by a 47-year-old Fresno man going east with the right-of-way.

Grewal was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she died on Tuesday, the coroner’s office said.

The Ford driver was unable to avoid the crash and suffered major injuries, CHP said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected to play a factor, CHP said.
