I tried Honeydew's special pillow for side sleepers, and it's neck-tacular — here's an exclusive code

You can't swing a cat these days without bumping into yet another study on the importance of good sleep. Everything depends on it: Your health, your happiness, your cat's safety... Of course, if you're not getting good sleep, that makes you worry about not getting good sleep, and that prevents you from getting good sleep. It's a whole vicious cycle thing. So how can you improve your slumber? There are lots of variables, of course, but I'd say it starts with the right pillow. And if you're a side sleeper like me, you're going to want to check this out: The Honeydew Scrumptious Side Sleeper Pillow has a genius, where-has-this-been-all-my-life? design that I suspect has ruined me for all other pillows. Plus, there's a deal to be had: For a limited time you can use promo code 15YAHOO at checkout to get 15% off your order.

(Aside: I deeply dislike the word "scrumptious." For me it's up there with "moist." On that basis I normally wouldn't even write about this product — which tells you how much I like it. Make no mistake, I'm the first person to lean into alliterative naming. But couldn't this have been called the Sweet Dreams Side Sleeper? The Smart Shape? The Sleepytime? Seriously, Honeydew folks, call me, I think this branding could be better.)

The (sigh) Scrumptious has a curved cutout along the bottom, which makes all the sense in the world: It leaves room for your shoulder while fully supporting your head and neck.

True story: The morning mine arrived, I took it into my bedroom to replace my current memory-foam pillow — and discovered that the latter was practically the same shape. In my sleep I'd mashed it into a crescent roll so I could be comfortable.

Hence my statement about this making perfect sense. I especially like that it still has the same edge-width as a standard pillow, so I still have a place to tuck my hand when I'm curled up. (You know the fetal-like positioning I'm talking about, side sleepers.)

Worth mentioning: My previous pillow was the Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Loft, which Consumer Reports has repeatedly named one of the best on the market. It sells for $70.

Like that pillow, the Scrumptious is stuffed with CertiPUR-US-certified memory foam. But Honeydew's is copper-infused foam, which the company says is "far more effective at cooling than gel-based memory foam." I can't say I noticed any real difference when it comes to cooling, though the Coop pillow isn't gel-based. Many other memory-foam pillows are.

But do I prefer the Honeydew? I absolutely do; even just looking at it before bed makes me feel relaxed. I think, "Yes, this is right. This is for my kind of sleeping." So maybe there's some placebo effect at work here, but I definitely feel I've been sleeping better. And I've had zero neck pain of late. While I can't 100% attribute that to the pillow, there's correlation at least.

Honeydew makes a specially fitted pillowcase for this, but it's not included with your purchase. Fortunately, if you add one to your cart, the same promo code (15YAHOO) will take 15% off that item as well. You can use a standard case, but it'll leave a bit of floppy fabric in that cutout area.

Even at $85 (the discounted price for the queen-size version), this costs a bit more than most pillows. On the other hand, can you even put a price on good sleep? (That's not a rhetorical question; the answer is no, you cannot.)

Fortunately, there's zero risk in trying one out: Honeydew offers a 60-day trial. If you're not happy with the pillow, you can return it for a full refund; the company will even cover shipping.
