It seems like almost every celebrity has their own line of spirits these days. We're hard pressed to walk into a liquor store without spotting a famous name on at least one label. With all the star power behind these beverage brands, we wanted to see how they stacked up so you know what to pick the next time you're looking for a celebrity-endorsed buzz.

For this taste test, we focused on celebrity tequila. We tasted tequilas from a wide range of famous faces, from Nick Jonas to Kendall Jenner, and rated each one on a scale of 1 to 5. Our team made sure to cover all of our bases: we tried each one on the rocks, neat, and even made our own ranch water to compile thorough reviews. Keep reading to see whose tequila earned our top spot.

Teremana - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

2/5

When he's not starring in blockbusters, The Rock also runs a tequila brand. Teremana uses agave grown in the Jalisco Highlands that's roasted for three days before distillation. We tried their blanco and reposado tequilas, but neither particularly wowed our team of tasters. After a sip one of our testers said, "Oof. No." Another said it had a "nasty aftertaste." As far as celebrity tequila goes, it's a decent budget option for mixing drinks, but you might as well shell out a few extra bucks for something better. Dos Hombres - Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul

Breaking Bad's beloved co-stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul teamed up to launch the mezcal brand Dos Hombres. While it's not tequila, their mezcal uses the Espadin agave variety and has a traditionally smoky flavor. But the notes of smoke only partially masked the flavor of "basically nail polish." Even the mezcal enthusiasts of the group found this bottle to be a little underwhelming. "It's not amazing," said one tester, "but I'd drink it in a pinch." Casa Del Sol - Eva Longoria

3.5/5

Eva Longoria founded Casa Del Sol to highlight Mexico's longstanding tequila-making tradition and to uplift women in the industry. Her team of female tequileras age their tequila in French Cognac barrels for a spirit that's meant to be sipped, not thrown back in a shot. Our tasters said it tasted "smooth and buttery." Some of us compared it to "popcorn" while others picked up on notes of "praline" and "crème brûlée." Either way, it's a solid pick for sipping neat. Villa One - Nick Jonas & John Varvatos

Nick Jonas collaborated with designer John Varvatos to create this line of premium tequila. If you're wondering what a Disney Channel star and the inventor of the boxer brief know about tequila, you will be pleasantly surprised by Villa One. Agave sourced from both the highlands and the lowlands of Jalisco creates a tequila that we described as "smooth, mild, and balanced." One of our testers picked up on "juniper and pine notes" in the reposado, which was by far our team's favorite. (Villa One Tequila, starting at $49 at ReserveBar)

818 - Kendall Jenner

One of the more recent business ventures to come out of the Kardashian-Jenner empire is Kendall's new line of tequila—and it's been met with its fair share of controversy. 818 was the brand we were the most excited to try, and it was a lot better than we anticipated. One of our testers said "I hate that I like this." Our favorite was definitely the blanco, which was compared to "vanilla ice cream" or a "caramel latte." Casamigos - George Clooney

George Clooney's iconic tequila brand was already one of our favorites—celeb-owned or not. It's pricey, but the high price tag is reflective of its quality. We described it as "classic" and a "go-to." Each of the tequila varieties was well received by our team, but we especially liked the blanco. One of our testers compared it to Danny Ocean, Clooney's character in Ocean's Eleven: "smooth, suave, and cool." (Casamigos Tequila, starting at $63 at ReserveBar)
