When it comes to finding unique, flavorful ice cream and frozen treats in the Triangle, there’s no shortage of options.
We’ve got soft-serve, hand-dipped, rolled, paleterias, frozen custard, places with views of pastures and even a spot that requires a waiver before consuming the extra spicy scoops.
We asked readers which places must be included our ultimate Triangle guide to ice cream shops.
That was the easy part. Now, we want to know which place is the best. Which frozen treat shop makes you, ahem, scream for ice cream?
Note that we are leaving out chains in this competition. Yes, we all have our favorite Baskin-Robbins and Ben & Jerry’s flavors. But this unofficial survey aims to shine a spotlight on homegrown options.
Here’s how this works. Voters will consider the following locations and pick up to 12 of their favorites.
Voting in this first round will end Monday, July 18 at 12 noon. Voting will continue through National Ice Cream Month until a winner is crowned (with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top).
