Tree planting event to be held on Earth Day, April 22

In recognition of Earth Day, Monday, April 22, a tree planting event is being held from 10 a.m. to noon at Doub's Woods Park, 1307 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown. Hosted by the Washington County Division of Environmental Management, the objective is to replenish trees lost within the park.

The event is being held in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources' Forest Service. DNR will provide guidance to the Parks Department in planting and maintenance of the trees.

Approximately 40 to 50 trees will be planted.
