In the tropics, there is Tropical Depression 21, which is moving into Nicaragua. In the Atlantic, Hurricane Tammy is moving north toward Bermuda.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management said while Tammy poses no direct threat to Florida over the next five to seven days ... ocean swells and breezy conditions from the distant system may arrive along the East Coast and continue throughout the week."

Weather advisories for Central Florida's East Coast

Strong high pressure settled along the Atlantic Sea board will produce sustained onshore winds up to 20 mph along the coast with gusts up to 30 mph.

There's a high risk of dangerous rip currents exists at all Central Florida Atlantic beaches. Entering the rough surf is discouraged.

Onshore flow around 15-20 kts will increase to 20-25 kts by sunset. Seas of 5-6 feet will steadily build, increasing to 8 feet offshore tonight.

A small craft advisory is in effect for the local offshore waters, expanding to the nearshore waters after 4 p.m. Small craft should exercise caution across nearshore zones Tuesday morning.

Treasure Coast: Hazardous weather outlook from Wednesday through Monday

A large and strong high pressure ridge centered well north of Florida will continue to produce breezy to windy conditions across east Central Florida and the adjacent Atlantic waters.

Boating and beach conditions will remain hazardous through mid week, with building seas over the open ocean, choppy surf, moderate to large breaking waves, and a high risk of rip currents in the surf zone.
