Travis Kelce Posts Hype Video Featuring AFC Championship Highlights Ahead of Super Bowl

Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs warms up prior to the AFC Championship NFL football game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Jan. 28, 2024, in Baltimore, Md.

Travis Kelce is hyping up Kansas City Chiefs fans with just one week to go until the 2024 Super Bowl.

The Chiefs tight end, known affectionately among fans as “Killa Trav,” posted a new hype video to Instagram on Feb. 2. The video features highlights from the Chiefs’ Jan. 28 AFC Championship victory—the game that catapulted Kansas City into the team’s fourth Super Bowl in five years.

Kelce’s video is set to British DJ Endor’s 2019 remix of “Pump It Up,” a song initially released in 2004 by the Belgian artist Danzel. It starts by showing some pre-game slow-motion footage, first of Kelce dressed in all black ahead of last weekend’s game and then of his team walking out onto the field. The footage then switches to mid-game clips as the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens go into battle.

Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes feature prominently in the compilation video as game announcers provide commentary in the background. “Pump It Up” continues thrumming throughout, injecting the video with energy and excitement.

Kelce kept his video caption simple: “Las Vegas, NEVADA!!!”

The Chiefs defeated the Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship, held this year at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium. The NFL season is now over for most players, but the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers have one game left to play. The two teams will face off on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII.

Kelce received a lot of attention during the last NFL season when he and his brother, Jason, became the first siblings to compete on separate teams in a Super Bowl. But Kelce’s fame reached new heights when he began dating pop star Taylor Swift. The couple took their relationship public last fall as football fans began spotting Swift cheering Kelce on at Chiefs games.

Swift has attended several NFL games this season and is expected to cheer on Kelce at the Super Bowl next weekend. However, many fans have voiced concern about her game-day travel plans. Swift’s popular Eras Tour is resuming this month with some international shows, including a few early February dates in Japan. Swift will perform in Tokyo on Feb. 10, causing some fans to wonder if it’ll be possible for her to fly from Tokyo to Las Vegas in time to cheer on her boyfriend.

Their worry was palpable enough to prompt a statement from the Japanese Embassy in the U.S., which assured Swifties that she’ll have plenty of time to make the journey.
