Travis Kelce Calls Out Simone Biles' Husband Jonathan Owens After Viral 'Catch' Comments

Travis Kelce had something to say about a fellow NFL star.

Jonathan Owens caught heat earlier this year after declaring that he was “the catch” in his relationship with Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in world champion history.

While Owens’ comment—including the reveal that he didn’t know who Biles was before they met on dating app Raya—received mixed opinions online, Travis seemingly added his two cents during a new episode of the New Heights podcast with brother, Jason Kelce.

Owens came up while the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the possibly retired Philadelphia Eagles center (Jason finally addressed those leaked retirement rumors during the episode as well) were discussing Travis’ nomination for Athlete of the Year by the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

“How is Simone Biles on this but her boyfriend [sic] isn’t?” Jason asked, seemingly sarcastically, as both brothers let out a laugh, before Jason added, “So weird.”

Biles married the Green Bay Packers safety during a ceremony in Cabo in April 2023.

“How am I on this?” Travis asked, pivoting away briefly, though it’s not exactly a surprise for anyone who has been tapped into the pop culture sphere recently.

Travis pondered if maybe the nomination came because of his appearance on SNL, but we’re willing to go out on a limb that it has to do with not only his amazing plays on the field, but also his highly-publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, and his sharp fashion sense.

Travis then got back to the topic at hand, quipping, “Owens? Played some good ball over there, I guess."

The “company” the “Big Yeti” is in also includes Coco Gauff, LeBron James, Sabrina Ionescu, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lionel Messi.

Kelce and Owens’ teams faced off against each other during the Dec. 3. game. Both Biles and Swift were in attendance to support their partners, with many fans hoping the two WAGS would snap a selfie together, which sadly, did not happen.

According to Biles, the reason was simply logistics, as they were not sitting near each other in the stadium. Biles then cheekily added, "And I’m not sure they were exactly happy that the Packers were beating them.”

As for the upcoming People’s Choice Awards—airing Feb. 18, 2024—Jason called on New Heights fans to “get this thing rigged” in his brother’s favor.

To make it a little easier, he also explained the voting process for podcast listeners, noting that fans can vote once a day until Jan. 19.

"I want an award! Jason gets Sexiest Man of the Year, First Team AP All-Pro. I want..." Travis joked, further enticing fans to make sure to cast a vote his way.
