An online travel review magazine has released a list of the top 10 oceanfront hotels in Myrtle Beach. They include major chains like Hampton Inn to locally-owned favorites like Schooner II Beach & Racquet Club.

The publication, TripsToDisocver, prized hotels that offered high-quality swimming pools, ease of access to restaurants and entertainment, and calmness away from the massive summer crowds. In its review, released earlier this month, TripsToDiscover called Myrtle Beach, with its 60 miles of coastline, “one of the kings of waterside leisure in the U.S.”

Here is the full list of the best beachfront hotels in Myrtle Beach, according to TripsToDiscover.

Anderson Ocean Club and Spa

TripsToDiscover says this first option “offers all the perks of a luxury resort with the added advantage of being in a central location. Their suite selection is excellent, making this lodging one of the best picks for a family holiday or honeymoon resort.”

The hotel offers a full-service spa, two outdoor swimming pools, an indoor heated pool and a lazy river.

2600 N. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Residence Inn Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

This hotel was prized for its affordability and in-room amenities, including full kitchens in every room.

“Right on the beach, this accommodation makes it easy to enjoy the Atlantic in its sandy glory,” TripsToDiscover said. “As an alternative to ocean waves, you’ve got a pretty outdoor pool. For dining, there’s an on-site restaurant, as well as a variety of eateries in the vicinity. Guests especially praised the location, as it’s in the quieter, southern side of the city with fewer crowds.”

2605 S. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Hampton Inn & Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

TripsToDiscover called this property an example of the “quintessential Myrtle Beach oceanside hotel experience.” Among other amenities, it has three outdoor pools, four indoor pools and two lazy rivers.

“The hotel is situated right on the beach, and the rooms provide fantastic panoramic views,” TripsToDiscover said. “The online reviews are highly positive, too. Hampton Inn & Suites is among the most popular and well-reviewed properties in the city. And the cherry on top is a free shuttle service to the airport. What’s not to like about this hotel?”

1801 S. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Homewood Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

This hotel is “one of the icons of the Myrtle Beach skyline,” according to TripsToDiscover. It was prized for its proximity to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk as well as downtown and dozens of restaurants and entertainment options.

“Whether on a family holiday, a romantic escape, or traveling for business, this versatile lodging can cater to various needs with elegance,” TripsToDiscover said.

520 N. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Schooner II Beach & Racquet Club

TripsToDiscover noted that this hotel’s independent ownership, rather than being part of a chain, gives it a “degree of extra authenticity and charm.”

In the days of inflation driving up restaurant prices, the kitchens in every room, as well as complimentary parking, were praised as ways to safe money.

“The location is amazing. You’re steps away from everything cool in the city,” TripsToDiscover said. “Also, as the name suggests, you’ve got quite an original addition to the classic hotel amenities — a racquetball court.”

2108 N. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Cabana Shores Hotel

This property is a “solid, budget-friendly option in a tranquil area outside of the Myrtle Beach city center,” TripsToDiscover said. Its location allows guests to more easily avoid crowds and isn’t one of the massive high-rises that blot out the sun.

“This is the place to choose if you’d like to have an oceanside location and focus on complete relaxation. It is a more compact and cozy alternative to the megaresorts along the Grand Strand,” TripsToDiscover said.

5701 N. Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach

The Beverley Beach House

This is the smallest property on the list and one of the few oceanfront properties in the entire city that doesn’t tower hundreds of feet into the sky. Nevertheless, many of the biggest attractions in Myrtle Beach are still just down the street, so guests can have the chance for a calmer stay but won’t be too far from all the action.

“Staying at a smaller hotel like The Beverley Beach House allows you to have a more fulfilling and personalized experience without giving up comfort and the vibrant atmosphere of the city,” TripsToDiscover said.

2502 N. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach

Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort

Being a condo-hotel, this property offers more types of rooms, many of which are laid out like a traditional apartment, with multiple bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining area. TripsToDiscover said Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort is perfect for people who are traveling with a large group.

“You can be sure that everyone will have enough space,” TripsToDiscover said. “And then there’s the amazing oceanside location and all-encompassing, mesmerizing water views.”

2007 S. Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach

Club Wyndham SeaWatch Resort

This is the only hotel on the list that is right by a golf club, making it perfect for the Myrtle Beach travelers seeking to stay active on their trip.

“The location is a little bit outside the center of the action, but the prices reflect that, and you’re really getting a great family vacation for a bargain,” TripsToDiscover said.

151 SeaWatch Drive, Myrtle Beach

Jade Tree Cove

This final hotel on the list offers a “scenic oceanside stay,” TripsToDiscover said. Part of that is due to its location — being about a 10-minute drive north of downtown Myrtle Beach. Even that short distance of separation is enough to put travelers away from the big beach crowds.

“Here you’re one-on-one with the Atlantic, profiting from the residential area’s calmer, more tranquil environment,” TripsToDiscover said. “Long meditative walks next to the rolling waves, a myriad of water enjoyment opportunities, and lots of fresh air are all right in front of the hotel.”
