Transfers, super seniors and freshmen add new look to K-State spring football roster

Used to be, college football fans had to wait until the summer months to see how much their favorite team’s roster changed from one season to the next.

Not anymore.

With the rise of transfers, the retention of “super seniors” and the addition of early arriving freshmen most teams go through a big transformation as soon as the spring semester begins.

That has already happened at Kansas State. The Wildcats lost 10 outgoing transfers during the winter transfer window and added four incoming transfers from other schools. Head coach Chris Klieman also said “welcome back” to nine seniors who have enjoyed playing for the Wildcats so much that they decided to remain on the team beyond their normal four years of eligibility for one more season. Then K-State greeted 13 early enrollees, incoming recruits who opted to join the team now rather than wait until the fall.

It can be hard to keep track of that much roster turnover.

With that in mind, here is a complete rundown of how much different the K-State football roster looks today before the Wildcats turn their focus to spring practice in a few months.
