Trampoline park planned for a location along U.S. 278 in Bluffton

Bluffton appears to be getting its own trampoline park, although the location and opening date are still — pardon the pun — up in the air.

Haleigh and David Johnston of Bluffton have signed a franchise agreement with Altitude Trampoline Park.

The couple is currently in negotiations for the lease of a site along U.S. 278, said Emily Cashen, a spokesperson for Altitude Trampoline Park. More specific information was not being made public because it wasn’t finalized.

On average, parks can take anywhere from nine to 12 months for construction, Cashen said.

“Bluffton has exploded with population growth over the past few years. It’s become an increasingly popular place to raise kids,” Haleigh Johnston said in a news release.

The Johnstons are the parents of five children. David Johnston served 12 years in the Marine Corps Reserve and is currently serving in the Ohio National Guard.

“As a parent myself, I know there are so many families in Bluffton who struggle to find indoor entertainment options for their children without driving upwards of 30 minutes to Savannah or Hilton Head,” Haleigh Johnston said.

Altitude Trampoline Park specifically targets parents with children ages 3- to 12-years-old. Among the passes are monthly memberships for $10 (or $99 for an annual pass) that allow two hours of jump time any day of the week. Attractions include trampolines, soft play, basketball, dodgeball and interactive games.

The only other location in South Carolina is in Columbia, and the company’s two locations in Georgia are both in the Atlanta metro area.

Savannah is home to two trampoline parks: Exhilarate-The Adventure Zone on Tibet Avenue and DEFY Savannah on Ogeechee Road.
