Toy Story 5 will bring back Woody and Buzz Lightyear
Toy Story 5 will see the return of both Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
Four years after the two unlikely best friends emotionally parted ways in Toy Story 4, Pixar boss Pete Docter has revealed that the sheriff and the space ranger will return for another movie.
"We have another Toy Story, so Woody and Buzz are back," he told Variety.

Unlike the recent stand-alone adventure Lightyear, focusing on the real-life inspiration for Buzz, the previously announced fifth chapter in the Toy Story saga will follow the original band of toys.
A sequel through and through, Toy Story 5 is the latest in the films produced by Pixar that look back on the big hits of the past.
Together with Buzz and Woody, Docter reminded viewers there is an Inside Out follow-up in the works, allowing fans to "go back inside the mind of Joy and Sadness".
But Pixar's creative chief officer also clarified that there's going to be a balance with a batch of original projects.

"Right now, the world seems to want the comfort of what they know, which is sequels, and movies based on things like comic books or video games," he said. "But all of these things were original at one point.
"I think it's essential for us to develop new original stories, which are harder to publicise, harder to get people excited to go see them. But I think audiences deserve it.
"They want to find that surprise, along with the comfort of the expectation."
Speaking of Pixar originals, the studio has recently released Elemental (out in UK cinemas on July 7), a love story between a water-being and a fire-being in a universe inhabited by anthropomorphic elements of nature.
The entire Toy Story series and shorts are streaming on Disney+, along with Lightyear.
