After tour with Taylor Swift, Bucks County's Sabrina Carpenter slated as SNL musical guest

It’s been a whirlwind of world travel for Bucks County native Sabrina Carpenter. After a stint as the opening act on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in South America, Asia and Australia, the 24-year-old singer and actress is coming fresh off last month’s performance at Coachella in California.

The Quakertown native will be closer to home next weekend when she is the musical guest on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” 11:30 p.m. May 18 on NBC. Jake Gyllenhaal is hosting.

Carpenter, who was signed to a record deal 10 years ago, has five albums to her credit, including 2022’s “emails I can’t send,” which featured the single “Feather.” She followed it up with the holiday-themed EP “Fruitcake” in November. Born in Quakertown, her family moved to nearby East Greenville, Montgomery County, before heading to Los Angeles to pursue her career at 13.

Carpenter has been tight with Swift prior to the Eras tour, attending her concert as a fan at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in May 2023 and in the Kansas City Chiefs luxury box hanging with Taylor as they watched Travis Kelce and his teammates.

Along with her music career, Carpenter also is an actress who's best-known role was in the Disney Channel series "Girl Meets World," which ran from 2014 to 2017. She has also appeared on “Law & Order: SVU” and the movies “Adventures in Babystting” (2016 version), “Tall Girl” (2019) and “Work It (2020).”
