Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

22:05

CHANCE! Spurs catch Chelsea out and Son races into the visitors' box, making the space for a shot. His left-footed effort is decent, but Sanchez gets down to his left and saves.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

22:05

Yellow Card Lesley Chimuanya Ugochukwu

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

22:04

Spurs are going to give this a go in the final minute despite their numerical disadvantage. Chelsea have looked far from comfortable, and Pochettino will be nervous.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

22:01

Substitution Raheem Shaquille Sterling Lesley Chimuanya Ugochukwu

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:59

Yellow Card Mykhailo Mudryk

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:57

WHAT A CHANCE! After Gusto naively gave the foul away, Bentancur is alert to meet the whipped free-kick delivery from the left. He is only a couple of yards out, but his header flies wide of the right post.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:56

Yellow Card Malo Gusto

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:56

Five minutes left at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the hosts' unbeaten start is in serious peril. That Dier disallowed goal will have given them hope, though, of finding an unlikely leveller.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:54

All three of Jackson's goals in the Premier League have either been in the 74th minute (one) or 75th minute (two).

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:53

IT REMAINS 2-1 TO CHELSEA! The replays show that though it was tighter than it first seemed, Dier is indeed just about offside and the goal remains disallowed, much to the visitors' relief.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:51

NO GOAL! A diagonal free-kick delivery is nodded on by a combination of Bentancur and Silva, reaching Dier at the back post. The defender catches his first-time volley very sweetly and sends it crashing into the top corner, but the flag goes up for offside and the goal will not count. There will be a VAR check, though...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:45

Goal Nicolas Jackson

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:44

Chelsea are a young side and are looking really naive at the moment. They just cannot find a way to get past this Spurs defence, despite their numerical advantage.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:41

Vicario eventually gets back to his feet and the game has resumed. You suspect the Spurs goalkeeper still has a fair bit of work to do if his team are to keep their unbeaten run alive.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:41

Vicario seemed to take that Cucurella strike square in the face, and though he initially gets up and carries on, he finally goes down to receive some treatment.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:39

UNBELIEVABLE SAVE!!! Spurs continue to live dangerously with this high line, and James lofts a ball over the top for Cucurella. The substitute is in on goal and cuts back onto his right foot before shooting, but Vicario races out of his goal to close the space and make the stop!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:36

It is all Chelsea now as they look to move the ball and stretch this undermanned Spurs team. The hosts are so far surviving, though.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:35

Of the 11 Spurs players that started this game, only four now remain on the field, a quite remarkable statistic.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:31

Substitution Pape Matar Sarr Rodrigo Bentancur Colmán

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:31

James brings down a lofted diagonal ball before lashing goalwards, though his low shot flies wide of the target from a difficult angle.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:31

Substitution Dejan Kulusevski Oliver William Skipp

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:31

Their team are severely outnumbered, but the home fans are responding to their side as they fight to stay in the game. The pressure is all on Chelsea now to kick on and find a winner in the final half an hour.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:29

Fernandez won the penalty that levelled this game, but now makes way for Mudryk. His pace could prove a real asset in the latter stages with Spurs' depleted numbers.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:29

WHAT A MISS! A free-kick routine sees James put down the right. The right-back digs a cross out, and Jackson is waiting in the middle only a couple of yards out. It seems he cannot miss, but his header down into the ground gives Hojbjerg a chance and the substitute manages to hook it over the bar.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:26

Yellow 2nd/RC Iyenoma Destiny Udogie

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:25

The first half went on for 56 minutes and 26 seconds, but it was so chaotic that just 23 minutes and 21 seconds of that saw the ball in play.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:22

Sterling cuts in from the left and shoots from outside the box, though Bissouma's block takes the sting out of the drive and it loops safely into the hands of Vicario.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:20

Five cards were shown in the first half (four yellows, one red), the joint-most in the first half of a Premier League game this season after Aston Villa vs Everton, Burnley vs Chelsea and West Ham vs Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:18

Palmer receives the ball just outside the box, gets it out of his feet and pulls the trigger. His effort is poor in the end, though, and flies well wide.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:17

The hosts get the ball rolling again for the second half.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:15

Substitution Levi Lemar Samuels Colwill Marc Cucurella Saseta

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:11

It has been quite the meltdown from Spurs, who seemed to be in complete control at 1-0 up, but a combination of bad luck and ill-discipline mean they may have a job on their hands just to come away with a draw. After such a frantic first half, surely the pace has to slow a little after the interval, and that will suit the hosts and their 10 men. Chelsea, on the other hand, will look to stretch the pitch and take advantage late in proceedings.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:06

The half-time whistle blows to bring a quite unbelievable first half to an end, with both head coaches surely relieved to get their teams back into the changing rooms. The score is 1-1, with Spurs taking the lead after just six minutes as Kulusevski's shot deflected in, but though the visitors looked like they could get blown away, they responded well and received some much-needed help from the undisciplined hosts. Romero had already been fortunate not to see red when he petulantly kicked out at Colwill, and he again lost his self-control when he scythed through Fernandez in the Spurs box. Caicedo's goal seconds after was ruled out for offside, but a VAR review spotted Romero's infringement and awarded a spot-kick before also sending Romero off. Palmer squeezed his penalty in despite the best efforts of Vicario, and though both sets of players were involved in a scuffle before the interval before James survived a VAR check for a red card, the teams made it into the break at 1-1.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:01

HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 1-1 CHELSEA

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

21:01

Yet another VAR check looks into whether James has elbowed Udogie as the two compete for an aerial ball, and while the Chelsea captain's arm is unnecessarily high, the right-back survives without seeing red.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:57

Yellow Card Levi Lemar Samuels Colwill

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:57

Yellow Card Pape Matar Sarr

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:57

Jackson goes in the book for cynically bringing down Sarr as Spurs looked to counter.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:56

Chelsea want another penalty as Sterling takes the ball past Porro before going to ground, eliciting a furious response from the Spurs right-back, who believes the winger has dived. The referee decides not to award a penalty, or a yellow card for simulation.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:55

Spurs are yet to lose in the seven previous games in which they have scored the opening goal in the Premier League this season, but that record could be under serious threat if they do not tighten up at the back here.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:51

Chelsea are catching this high Spurs line out with throughballs seemingly at will. The hosts certainly take risks under Postecoglou, but this is just madness with 10 men.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:49

Substitution Micky van de Ven Pierre-Emile Kordt Højbjerg

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:49

Substitution James Daniel Maddison Emerson Aparecido Leite de Souza Júnior

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:49

This is unbelievable for Spurs. Maddison seems to be okay and looks like he will try to carry on, but with the relief not even having had the time to sink in from that incident, they receive a huge blow as Van de Ven seemingly pulls his hamstring while racing with Jackson after a long ball.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:46

Maddison is down and looks in serious pain having gone down under no contact.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:44

Spurs have completely lost their heads here, having been in almost complete control at 1-0 up. Postecoglou now sees yellow for getting too vocal on the touchline.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:43

All three of Palmer's goals in the Premier League have been penalties, coming in his last four appearances in the competition.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:40

The ball is in the net again as Sterling squares for Jackson to finish, though the former Manchester City man was offside in the build-up and the flag goes up to curtail the celebrations.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:37

Looking to shore things up after Romero's dismissal, Postecoglou sacrifices Johnson for Dier.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:37

Penalty Goal Cole Jermaine Palmer

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:36

IS THIS A PENALTY AND A RED CARD!?!? The replays show that Romero's challenge on Fernandez in the penalty area is a poor one, catching the Chelsea man high on the leg with his follow-through. He may have to go here.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:36

Red Card Cristian Gabriel Romero

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:34

NO GOAL!!! The VAR rules that Jackson was indeed offside and blocking Vicario's view. However, there is yet another VAR check to see whether a Romero challenge in the build-up to the disallowed goal is worthy of a penalty, and even a red card!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:33

GOAL!!! CAICEDO LEVELS WITH A STUNNER!!! A penalty shout falls on defeat ears before the ball finds its way out to Caicedo outside the box. The former Brighton man smashes goalwards first time, and his shot is superb as it flies past Vicario and into the back of the net. However, the flag goes up for offside, and there will be a VAR check to ascertain whether Jackson was offside and blocking Vicario's view...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:28

Amid all the chaos surrounding the ruled-out Chelsea equaliser, Romero also survived a VAR check that looked to find out whether his petulant kick out at Colwill was worthy of a red card. He is also fortunate.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:27

NO GOAL!!! Spurs are very fortunate, as the replays show the ball flicks back up onto Sterling's arm before he finishes, and the goal is ruled out. Spurs' 1-0 lead remains intact!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:26

GOAL!!! STERLING LEVELS FOR CHELSEA!!! They have been under a lot of pressure in these early exchanges, but the persistence of Sterling means they have equalised. He picks up the ball and carries it into the Spurs box, and receives a big slice of luck as his shot is blocked back into his path. He brings it down again before finishing, making it 1-1, though there is a VAR review as it seems to hit his arm...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:24

Goal Raheem Shaquille Sterling

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:23

Each of Kulusevski's last two Premier League goals have come at home, after just one of his first eight in the competition had been at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:21

Spurs are a delight to watch. Every player is comfortable in possession and they seem to effortlessly slice through their opposition. Chelsea look a little stunned.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:21

Yellow Card Iyenoma Destiny Udogie

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:19

IT REMAINS 1-0! It is very tight, but Son is just about offside and the goal will not count. That is a shame as it was a lovely move and finish from Spurs and Son.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:18

NO GOAL! Another sweeping move from Spurs carves Chelsea open with a series of perfectly weighted passes. Bissouma finds Johnson out wide, and he fires in an early cross to pick out Son in the middle. The forward takes it first time, perhaps catching Sanchez out, and the shot flies past the Chelsea goalkeeper and in. It is a brilliant attack, but the flag goes up for offside, though there will be a VAR check...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:15

SAVE! Maddison inexplicably gives the ball away under very little pressure, and Sterling puts Jackson in on goal. The striker hesitates but manages to cut back and find the space to shoot, and his effort looks like it will fly into the bottom corner, until Vicario gets down to his left and palms it behind for a corner.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:13

This is a huge challenge now for Pochettino's young side. They are right up against it, and may just need to survive these next 10 minutes before looking for a way back into the contest.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:12

Spurs smell blood and go searching for a quick second goal, though Sanchez is just about able to hold onto Porro's dipping long-range effort.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:08

Assist Pape Matar Sarr

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:07

Sarr fires a throughball into the path of Son, but his shot from a difficult angle is saved before a delayed flag goes up for offside.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:07

The game has started at a great intensity, with hefty challenges already going in. Maddison has just been cleared out by Caicedo, and Pochettino will not mind that as his team try to stamp their authority on the match, as long as it does not spill over.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

20:04

The visitors kick us off and we are underway! Can the hosts keep up their unbeaten start? We will find out over the next 90 minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

19:58

The two teams enter the pitch in front of a vociferous home crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

19:58

Pochettino goes with four alterations from the 2-0 EFL Cup home victory over Championship side Blackburn Rovers last week, with Silva and Colwill coming into the back four for Badiashile and Cucurella while Caicedo replaces Ugochukwu in midfield. James starts in the Premier League for the first time since the draw with Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season, while Jackson will lead the line, looking to end a run of three games without a goal.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

19:54

Postecoglou makes two changes from the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace last time out as Johnson is preferred to Richarlison on the left wing while Udogie returns from injury for Ben Davies, who is missing from the squad altogether with an ankle knock. Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic are both long-term absentees with knee injuries, and while Ryan Sessegnon is expected back in November, this game comes too soon for him.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

19:38

Mauricio Pochettino used to be a hero for Spurs fans, leading their team to the Champions League final in the 2018-19 season, but he returns to his former club here as head coach of rivals Chelsea and could be in for a warm reception from the home crowd. His new charges are underperforming in the league table, currently 13th, though an upset win here would take them back into the top half.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

19:33

It has been an incredible start to life under Ange Postecoglou for Spurs, with this weekend's results meaning they remain the only Premier League side yet to lose a game this season. That will be put to the test here in a London derby against a fierce rival, but they know a win will take them back to the Premier League summit and give them a two-point lead over reigning champions Manchester City.
